In this clinic, students learn how to utilize computers to accomplish fantastic things in their musical lives. Topics covered include the evolution of modern recording technology, basic digital recording concept, MIDI, computer aided transcription and notation, as well as additional practical applications for the 21st century musician. |

Fingerboard Orientation |

Clinic 2 . This clinic can be taught for guitarists, bassists, or a combination thereof. Basic problems of the fingerboard are addressed, including shifting, chord-tone visualization, and comprehensive interval recognition. Regardless of the combination of instruments present, students will leave with a better grasp of their instrument's possibilities. Material is provided for all three instruments in standard notation as well as tab. |

Tension & Release |
| Clinic 3 . Mature improvisers pick freely from a number of different sounds in order to outline tension and release in modern music. When analyzed thoroughly, one finds that all 12 notes may be used (in the right context,) over a dominant chord. In this clinic, students are introduced to a simple yet comprehensive system for using and resolving altered dominant harmonies. Material is provided in C concert, bass clef, Bb, and Eb. |
