Training focuses on a well rounded musical education. Gross mechanical accomplishment alone rarely makes a good musician, and almost never makes a great one. Heavy emphasis is placed on the theory, history, and significant figures of Western music. From Mozart to the Beatles, all music owes something to the greats who came before us.
Rather than working on songs and short pieces in a monotonous fashion, the focus here is learning the tools necessary to express oneself in the shortest amount of time possible. Students learn how to communicate the language of music very quickly; those playing in bands and school ensembles greatly benefit from this comprehensive experience.
